PhD Student

Florin is currently working as a PhD student focusing on the study of circumstellar disks and planetary formation under the supervision of Dr Mayra Osorio. He started working at the Institute of Astrophysics in  Andalusia (CSIC) in 2020 as a technician, and beforehand studied for an engineering degree in Telecommunication Systems at the University of Málaga, Spain. Then going on to achieve his Master in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Granada, Spain.

Presentation

Florin is a PhD student at the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia, working in the Radio Astronomy and Galactic Structure Department. He currently dedicated to the study of circumstelar disks and planetary formation. During his time as a technician he has developed an online catalog and a database on  protostars, jets  and protoplanetary disks  in Orion observed by ALMA and VLA. These observations were carried out by the Herschel Orion Protostar Survey (HOPS) consortium.

On the other hand, also he is engaged in characterizing the material around post-AGB stars called Water Fountain stars by producing  an online catalog of models of the dust emission, which comes from the envelopes and disks around these stars.
